Tat, tat, tatted up!

“My body is my journal, and my tattoos are my story.”
- Johnny Depp

I lost my virginity last Saturday. My ink virginity. I finally got my first tattoo. I met up with three of my friends for a day of body modification. Our first stop was at Timeless Tattoo. I've had the idea of an enso on my wrist for a long time. What's an enso, you ask? Well...

An open enso signifies an ongoing journey; Leaving the ensō open is like leaving room for the spirit to flow in and out of the circle of emptiness; allowing it to breathe. Breath and emptiness are essential ingredients for meditation, contemplation and the creation of a spiritual life.

I finally took the dive and had a simple version of one tattooed. It's the biggest commitment I've ever made.. and maybe ever will. Haha!

We slid on over to a piercing shop so my friend LeAnn could get two additional piercings on her ears. Girl's got about 6-7 piercing on her ears and they look fierce!  We rounded out the afternoon with drinks and a late lunch at Roxx Tavern off of Cheshire Bridge. They serve a mean margarita and one of the best cucumber martinis I've ever tasted.

After my experience last weekend, I have a feeling this tattoo won't be my last...

Spring in the Park

A co-worker of mine recently asked me 1) Was I settled and enjoying my new apartment and 2) Was I taking the park for granted yet? My answer to the first question was 'Hell yea!' The answer to the second- 'No way!'

Piedmont park is literally so close to my apartment I could potentially through a rock and hit the front gate (given the rare chance of good aim). Mason and I have been taking so many walks I could probably get around the lake with my eyes closed at this point.

Isn't the little nugget too cute for words???

The weather is finally warming up and the trees are starting to bloom. The park is beautiful year round but I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy it even more in the coming months.

I've stocked up on Zyrtec, open toed shoes, and poop bags (for the nugget, not me). All I need now is a picnic blanket and someone to share a bottle of wine and I'm set. Why do I get the feeling it won't be too hard to find that person to split my booze with? ;)

New Month, New Ventures

Just call me M.I.A.

Where the hell did March go? Apparently I was too busy working, dealing with a crumbling relationship, and finding time to sleep somewhere in there. Seriously though, I've been a pretty horrible blog owner and I take full responsibility for my blog collecting dust.

Okay... now that we have the awkward apology out of the way, let's get to the good stuff. I opened an Etsy shop! MudgeStudio.

It's filled with original art, by me!

I'm working on getting giclee prints of each piece but if I sell one before that then it will truly be one of a kind.... that was my subtle hint to go buy a piece before it's gone!

I'll be adding additional pieces in the coming days but, for now, go check out what is in the shop. Like, now.

Flurries

I'm snowed in. Well, iced in, but who is really keeping track at this point? We are officially having round two of Snowmagedon in the metro Atlanta area and I am completely over it. The sky has been dropping snow, sleet, and freezing rain on us for the last two days and it's not the fun kind of winter weather you hope for. It's hard, slippery stuff that keeps you off the roads and makes productivity impossible.

I made the smart decision to drive up to my parents place, since I just moved to Midtown last weekend. I didn't want to get stuck in an area I wasn't familiar with yet since there was the potential for power outages, food shortages, and general weather frustration. And plus, my Mom is a pretty bad-ass cook and they have alcohol for me to partake in. It was a simple decision to make.

We had crab last night and one too many bottles of wine. Today is day two of being stuck inside so I'm hoping to finish up a painting or two and do as much working from home as possible.

If you're stuck inside like me, I'm sending you positive vibes because, let's be honest, it's easy to go a little crazy in situations like this. Good thing I have wine to keep me sane....
